There is no confirmed lockdown at William Byrd Middle and High Schools. Despite police sirens or noises in the area, a Roanoke County Dispatch Spokesperson tells us that the School Resource Officers at the schools have confirmed to him that nothing is going on at the Roanoke County campus.
This comes after sources near the school confirmed hearing sirens of emergency responder vehicles in the area. That resulted in a nearby daycare being told to keep children inside.
School Resource Officers say fire alarms were tested this morning. There might also be some sort of driver’s education going on according to a Roanoke County Dispatch spokesperson.
