Danny Meyers
Weekdays | 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Growing up in a music-loving household, Danny had dreams of working as a radio personality since he was 5 years old, when he received a beginners DJ Kit from Sears out of the Christmas Wish Book. Instead of losing interest in pretending to make small talk with a nonexistent audience, Danny held firm to his aspirations and landed his first real gig at age 12, deejaying and delivering news for the St. Lawrence University radio station in Canton, New York. He never looked back, he says.
In addition to his fake radio shows as a young child, Danny has been heard on G105/WDCG –
Raleigh, NC, MOViN 107.7 – Norfolk, VA, 95.5 WPLJ – New York, NY, and of course K92/WXLK in Roanoke. For 14 years, he co-hosted the award-winning “K92 Mornin’ Thang” show with Zack Jackson and Monica Brooks. During that time, they raised thousands of dollars for local charities and over $100,000 for Hurricane Katrina Relief. “It was incredibly hard to leave Roanoke,” Danny says. “But it was an easy decision to come back. It’s an honor to be joining the legendary team at Q99.”
Outside of radio, Danny loves food, wine, movies, music, and his dog, Dudley. (an American Pit Bull Terrier “foster fail). Danny is an active supporter of The Trevor Project, St. Jude’s, The Alzheimer’s Association, Hospice, Wounded Warrior Project, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and several animal rescue organizations.

Gene Broadus
Saturday | 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
This is my second time around at Q99FM. The first time was fantastic and this time promises to be even better! You may remember me as the host of Q99’s Love Songs (before Delilah). It was a show that I am still proud of because I got to talk to you, the listener, and you allowed me to come into your home each night and be a part of your family. I graduated from Virginia Tech in 1986 with a degree in Communication Studies and Spanish. I began working for Q99FM in 1988 and enjoyed 12 years here, leaving in 2000 to pursue a career as a morning show host, assistant program director and news anchor. I also had the opportunity to work with News Channel 10 WSLS in Roanoke, VA as a video producer/editor. I returned to Q99FM in May of 2006. It has been an awesome home coming! When I’m not on the radio, I enjoy fishing, bowling and visiting my family in Northern Virginia. I have two sisters and a brother: Wanda, Aaron and Adair, and I love them very much!! I’m a VA Tech Hokies and a Washington Commanders fan, too!
