2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
1/2 green pepper, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb ground beef
1 jar of your fave pasta sauce
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp hot sauce
1 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 cups beef broth
1 cup milk
1 can diced tomatoes, drained
8 ounces grated sharp cheddar
torn fresh basil for garnish
In a larger pot, heat olive oil and saute onion, pepper and garlic about 5 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking up into small bits. Drain grease and season with salt and pepper then add pasta sauce, Worcestershire, hot sauce, ketchup, mustard, broth and milk. Stir and mix well. Add pasta and bring to a boil, then cover, lower heat and simmer 8-10 minutes, stirring (add more liquid if necessary). Remove from heat and stir in diced tomatoes. Then add cheese, let stand a few minutes and serve with basil garnish.
