1 loaf French bread
1/2 cup garlic and herb butter spread
1 lb lean ground beef
half green bell pepper, diced
half medium onion, diced
1 tsp minced garlic
8 ounce can tomato sauce
3/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp seasoned pepper
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
dried parsley
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with foil.
Slice French bread in half, lengthwise. Remove a little of the bread, making a boat. Spread garlic and herb butter over the two halves of bread. Place the bread on the baking sheet.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook 5 minutes, crumbling the meat as it cooks. Add onions, green pepper, and garlic and cook another five minutes. Drain any excess grease.
Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, worcestershire, pepper, salt, onion powder, and paprika. Simmer 5-8 minutes until sauce thickens.
Spoon the sloppy joe mixture evenly over the bread halves. Sprinkle the cheese on top of the meat mixture and sprinkle with parsley. Bake 12-15 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted. Cut into slices and serve.
